Medical Tattooing

Medical Tattooing/Camouflage can make a significant difference to a person's body image, physiological and emotional state, especially people with scars, burns and skin diseases.

Often the finishing touches to surgical procedures, Medical Tattooing/Camouflage can be the end of a highly emotional journey. Once the skin has healed, pigment can be infused and blended into the surrounding skin tone to camouflage an imperfection and create the illusion of smoother skin.A colored pigment can also be infused to create an optical effect such as the Areola Nipple Complex after breast surgery. In the case of Alopecia or hair loss an optical effect of a hair stroke can be created to give the appearance of eyebrows or eyelashes.

Areola Restoration

This procedure is created to give a 3D effect, completing the aesthetic appearance of the Areola Nipple Complex and the finished results look very natural. Sometimes after reconstruction surgery the Areola Nipple Complex can be pale or unnatural in appearance. Medical Tattooing can re-color and make the areola more natural in appearance.

Pigment can also be infused to darken pale areolas, enlarge small areolas and re-define irregular areolas.

Scar Camouflage

This procedure is ideal for scars caused from accidents or injuries, 'face lift' scars or scars from other surgical procedures. Generally one year after a scar has healed pigment can be infused in the scar to help match the surrounding skin tone.

Pigment Lightening/Correction

When pigment has healed to the wrong color it can sometimes be corrected by using a colored pigment to neutralize the undesired shade of pigment remaining.

Vitiligo

Vitiligo is a skin disorder where there is hypopigmentation (loss of skin color). 1 in 100 people in the USA develop Vitiligo. It can occur at any age but most commonly begins before the age of 20. In some cases Medical Tattooing can be successful in camouflaging the loss of skin colour to match the surrounding skin tones.

Cleft Lip

The appearance of a cleft lip can be dramatically improved by creating symmetrical shaped lips and camouflaging scar tissue.
